Breathe…

March 12, 2017 by Thauna Leave a Comment

Breathe is a blend that assists with respiratory issues. Last week I had a runny nose, cough, and congestion and I made sure I had some Breathe with me at all times. I put a drop in my hands and cupped them to breathe in the goodness when I was stuffy and when I felt the runny nose, cough, and congestion was starting to settle in my chest. When I’m not feeling well it seems to follow a typical pattern. It usually begins with a sore throat and aches, then it moves to my head/nose, and then it will usually settle in my chest with a cough. I never did get a cough even though I could feel the yuck trying to settle in my chest. I got through this episode without OTC drugs and I think I felt better using doTERRA naturally pure essential oils. I used the following during my bout with a runny nose, cough, and congestion:
OnGuard/Purify – Diffused at home to combat the spread of germs (and in my bedroom at night)
Lavender & AromaTouch – in hot bath to ease body aches and help sleep
Lemon & Peppermint – cupped in hands when the sneezes attacked

Breathe – cupped and put a drop on nose and under nose (when chest congestion is the issue make sure to breathe deeply into your lungs)

Colds really suck, but I felt better getting through this last one with NO OTC drugs. Breathe helped clear my stuffiness without the typical medicine (foggy, disconnected) head feeling that I get from using OTC’s such as Sudafed.

The congestion never did settle in my chest and make me cough AND no one else in my home caught the cold! Win/Win!

Blend Ingredients

Eucalyptus radiata
Larurel leaf
Lemon
Melaleuca alternfolia
Peppermint
Ravensara

Common Uses

Difficulty breathing
Chest/Lung discomfort
Congestion
Seasonal runny nose, cough, or night sweats
Cough
Respiratory stress

Application and Uses

Use at the onset of difficult times, feeling unwell, seasonal or environmental threats, and congestion. Apply topically with thorough massage to the back, neck, shoulders, chest, and feet. Combine with hot compresses for best results. Use cup and inhale or diffuse when possible and carry a tissue cup on the go.

For young children or infants, use a carrier oil like fractionated coconut oil, apply with massage to chest and back, and cover with clothing or socks after finishing.

This blend can be helpful in a bath using salts or a dispersing agent. During a steamy hot shower, plug the drain for a few minutes and use several drops with a wash cloth in the bath area.
